Chile’s ministry of energy on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Port of Hamburg on matters related to exports of green hydrogen to Germany. The seaport will be the gateway for Chile-made green hydrogen to the German markets, the ministry said.
The latest MoU follows agreements that the Chilean energy ministry signed with the Port of Rotterdam and the Port of Antwerp to consolidate production in Chile and promote uses of green hydrogen and its derivatives in Europe. Before arriving in Santiago, the German delegation, led by Hamburg mayor Peter Tschentscher, made stops in Uruguay and Argentina to discuss green hydrogen development in those countries, among other topics.
