Potato exports continued to increase in July, following the growing trend in June. New potatoes have been listed this month, and the market supply has remained abundant. The orders of export enterprises are stable. With the improvement of the pandemic, the maritime market gradually returns to normal. The shipping price continues to fall, and the backlog from export enterprises at this early stage is being released in a concentrated manner, driving the growth of potato exports. Data shows that China's exports of fresh or refrigerated potatoes (except for seed, the same below) totaled about 54.31 kilotons, an increase of about 21.58% month-on-month compared with 44.67 kilotons in June. Compared with the same period last year, the export volume of 47.23 kilotons increased by about 14.98% year-on-year; Exports totaled approximately $26.63 million in July, an increase of approximately 17.53% over the same period last year.

From the perspective of export destinations, the top ten countries or regions that imported fresh or refrigerated potatoes from China in July 2022 were Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Brunei, and Macau. Among them, the country that imported the largest volume of fresh or refrigerated potatoes from China in July was Malaysia.
Overview of potato export prices
The export price of China's fresh or refrigerated potatoes was 490 US dollars/ton in July 2022, compared with the export price of 631 US dollars/ton in June, down about 22.35% month-on-month. Compared with the export price of $479/ton in July 2021, it increased by about 2.3% year-on-year.
