Serbia's trade deficit rose by 50% on the year in the first nine months of 2022, reaching 8.521 billion dollars (8.582 billion euro), the country's statistical office said on Monday. Exports increased by 14% year-on-year to 21.301 billion dollars in the January-September period, while imports went up by 22% to $29.823 billion, the statistical office said in a statement.
The export-import ratio fell to 71.4% from 76.6% in the first nine months of 2021. In September alone, Serbia's exports increased by 5.5% on the year to 2.453 billion dollars, while imports added 6.8% to 3.131 billion dollars, resulting in a 678 million dollar deficit. On a monthly comparison basis, exports increased by 2.8% in September, while imports increased by 1.4%.
