Jurin Laksanawisit, Thailand's Commerce Minister, said on Friday that the country is predicted to post rises in shipments of rubber, as data showed a rise of 3.19 percent this year.
The official said that "It is a combination of many factors that propelled the demand for Thai rubber," adding that "global demand for rubber gloves and auto tyres keeps rising significantly because of the global economic recovery after lockdown measures to curb the virus are being relaxed, as well as the Thai government's proactive approach to promote rubber exports".
According to the minister, he spoke with the International Trade Promotion Department, Rubber Authority of Thailand and rubber cooperatives, and they all said that the country's rubber goods are predicted to see 359 billion baht (USD11.37 million) this year, 3.19 percent more compared to 2019.
Data published by the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAT) said that the prices of rubber sheet, block, and latex all increased compared to the same period a year ago.
