Soft wheat exports from the European Union and Britain in the 2020/21 season that started on July 1 have reached 7.84 million tonnes, official EU data showed on Monday. The data was due to cover the period up to Nov. 8, but the European Commission specified in a note that figures only ran to Nov. 6 due to an ongoing technical issue. The exports were 24% below the volume cleared by Nov. 10 last year, the data showed.
EU and UK 2020/21 barley exports had reached 2.90 million tonnes, down 7%, while EU and UK 2020/21 maize imports stood at 5.86 million tonnes, down 19%. The EU's weekly export and import data for cereals and oilseeds has been disrupted by a series of technical problems in the past month. The Commission is continuing to include Britain in its weekly grain export and import data after Britain's exit from the bloc at the end of January.
