The Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture anticipates a promising 2020-2021 export campaign. The indicators show a positive start to the agricultural export season when compared to the previous season, in which producers experienced setbacks due to the persistent drought in the country and the outbreak of the COVID-19 crisis. Morocco exported a volume of around 214,500 tons of vegetables up to November 22, experiencing a 15% year-on-year increase.
According to data from the ministry, the country's tomato exports increased by 3% totaling 117,400 tons. Exports of peppers and chili peppers also performed well with a volume of 19,400 tons, i.e. 27% more than in the 2019-2020 campaign. The county exported 6,500 tons of raspberries, i.e. 17% more than in the last year.
