Egypt's exports of aluminum and copper grew by 5.3% to $748 million in 2020, compared to $710 million in 2019, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported. Algeria, Italy, Turkey, Morocco, Greece, Libya, Sudan, Germany, Lebanon, and Spain accounted for 70.4% of Egypt's total exports of aluminum and copper in 2020, with a total value of $526.676 million. Egypt's recorded a 7% increase in its aluminum exports to $575 million in 2020 from $539 million in 2019, as shown by a report by the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractory, and Metallurgy Industries (ECBM).
Italy topped Egypt's 65 aluminum importers with $285.513 million in 2020, representing 49.6% of Egypt's total exports of aluminum. Meanwhile, Egypt's exports of copper and articles went up 1% in 2020 to $173 million last year from $171 million in the earlier year. Algeria came on top of Egypt's 38 aluminum importers with $49.473 million, accounting for 28.6% of the country's total copper exports.
