Serbia's trade gap narrows 5.1% in 2020

Serbia's foreign trade deficit went down 5.1% on the year to $6.735 billion (5.557 billion euro) in 2020, the country's statistical office said. The country's exports edged down 0.7% to $19.495 billion in 2020, while imports fell by 1.9% to $26.233 billion, the office said in a statement on Friday.

 

The export-import ratio edged up to 74.3% last year from 73.4% in 2019. In December alone, Serbia's exports went up 27.5% on the year to $1.906 billion and imports rose 1.8% to $2.589 billion, resulting in a $683.2 million deficit.
