Portugal

As part of a mission to promote and explore the Portuguese market, a Moroccan economic delegation has scheduled an organized visit to Portugal  from October 25 to October 27. The Moroccan mission is organized in accordance with an initiative from the Moroccan Embassy in Lisbon, spearheaded by the Moroccan Ambassador to Portugal, Othmane Bahnini. According to a press release from the Moroccan Embassy in Portugal, the delegation includes the Director General of Industry at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and the Digital Economy, Ali Seddiki, as well as the Administrator of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and President of the Morocco-Portugal Business Council, Karim Amor. “The visit is intended to showcase Moroccan expertise and the strengths of the Moroccan industrial platform, and more particularly the potential for investment in the automotive and textile sectors in the Kingdom,” stated the same press release.

The mission will be marked by a series of meetings with economic operators and high-level officials, including field visits to the Porto region. During the visit, representatives of the two countries will have the opportunity to review the different business and cooperation opportunities offered by both sides, and ways to further strengthen them. Through the initiative, Morocco and Portugal will have the opportunity to build partnerships, develop reciprocal investment, establish channels for the exchange of information and beneficial knowledge, and consolidate the economic cooperation between the two countries. Morocco is Portugal's second trading partner in Africa and the first in the Maghreb. Morocco “has become the number one destination for Portuguese exports in the Arab world,” according to Moroccan state media. The two countries have also collaborated in the fields of energy and security.
