Serbia's 9-mo trade gap widens 17.7% y/y

Serbia's foreign trade deficit went up 17.7% on the year to $5.698 billion (4.894 billion euro) in the first nine months of 2021, the country's statistical office said. The country's exports grew by 36.2% to $18.703 billion in January-September, while imports went up by 31.3% to $24.401 billion, the office said in a statement on Friday.

 

The export-import ratio rose to 76.6% from 73.9% in the first nine months of 2020. In September alone, Serbia's exports went up 24.2% on the year to $2.315 billion and imports rose 20.8% to $2.926 billion, resulting in a $611.7 million deficit.
