Greece’s import price index in the industrial sector jumped 23.6% in December for an average increase of 20% in 2021, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Monday.
More specifically, the industrial import price index rose 23.6% in December 2021 compared with the same month in 2020, after a 10.4% increase recorded in the same months of 2020/2019. This development in the so-called imported inflation was attributed to a 34.4% jump in the import price index from countries outside the Eurozone and a 6.8% rise in the Eurozone price index. The index rose 1.5% in December from November 2021.
