In the first seven months of this year, Serbian exports amounted to 15.37 billion euros, which is a growth of 28.9 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year, while the import amounted to 21.8 billion euros and 40 per cent higher – said the State Statistical Office. The external trade deficit amounted to 6.43 billion euros, an increase of 76.3 per cent compared to the same period last year.
The total external trade in goods of Serbia for the January-July period stood at 37.18 billion euros and is 35.1 per cent higher than in the same period of the previous year, reports Beta news agency. External trade in goods was greater with the countries with which Serbia has signed free trade agreements. EU member states accounted for 59.1 per cent of the total trade. Serbia’s main external trade partners in terms of export are Germany, Italy, Bosnia, Hungary and China, and in terms of import, China, Germany, Russia, Italy and Hungary.
