The Federal Statistical Office of Germany (Destatis) said on Tuesday that the pharmaceutical exports of the country rose 14.3 percent compared to a year earlier to set at a total of USD25.3 billion.
The office said that "the pharmaceutical industry is one of the few branches which recorded large increases in exports at the beginning of the coronavirus crisis".
Adding that the total exports of the country decreased 22.6 percent in the period from March to May compared to the same period in the previous year.
The German pharmaceutical goods exports in March hit a new record, increasing 27.8 percent to set at USD9.45 billion in comparison with the same period a month earlier.
