Colombia exports pineapples to Canada for the first time

Canada

Colombia will export its first pineapples to Canada on Wednesday, September 16. This is a shipment of 19,000 kilos of pineapple produced at La Gloria farm, in the department of Cesar. The shipment will depart from the Port of Barranquilla and it's headed to Toronto, the capital of the province of Ontario.

Colombia already exports pineapples to other countries such as Argentina, Poland, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy, among others.

This shipment was possible thanks to the Ministry of Agriculture and the ICA, which work together so that Colombia can export the best of its products to the international markets.

This export is part of the Government's plan to position Colombian pineapples in attractive markets such as Canada.
