Turkmenistan

The representatives of Turkmenistan and Turkey confirmed their countries' interest in expanding cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan's State News Agency.

The discussions were held via videoconference.

The parties stressed the need to intensify inter-parliamentary cooperation, which has a significant impact on the progressive development of Turkmen-Turkish relations, as well as the exchange of experience in improving the national legislative framework.

Turkey is one of the largest trading partners of Turkmenistan: about 600 Turkish companies operating in the field of trade, investment, construction, energy, transport, communications, textile and processing industries are registered.

Turkmenistan exports products from the textile, fuel and energy, chemical, and agricultural industries. Metal and products made from it, household goods, equipment, building materials, electrical equipment, chemical and light industry products, food, vehicles, and medicines come from Turkey.
