Russia's trade surplus decreased by 43.5 percent year on year in the first seven months of this year to 59.4 billion U.S. dollars, the Federal Customs Service said Wednesday.
Russia's foreign trade amounted to 311.4 billion dollars, dropping by 17.7 percent from the same period last year, it said in a statement.
Exports in the January-July period stood at 185.4 billion dollars, down 23.3 percent year on year, while fuel and energy products accounted for 53.7 percent of the total exports.
Imports from January to July amounted to 126 billion dollars, declining by 7.7 percent year on year.
