Japan imported 18.143 million barrels of crude oil from the UAE in August, according to data from Agency for Natural Resources and Energy in Tokyo.
The agency, which forms part of the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, reported that the percentage of oil imports from the UAE represented 24.8 per cent of the total Japanese oil imports.
Japan’s total crude oil import in August equalled 73.189 million barrels, official news agency WAM reported.
In October 2019, the UAE was named Japan’s top oil exporter, having sent 32.24 million barrels of crude oil to the Asian country.
