Every year, Egypt exports agricultural products worth some $2.2 billion, which makes up 10 percent of the country's non-petroleum exports. According to Agriculture Minister El-Sayed El-Quseir, the nation's agricultural exports have reached around 4.8 million tons from 1 January to 25 November 2020. Exports included citrus fruit, potatoes, onions, grapes, pomegranates, garlic, mangoes, strawberries, beans, guavas, cucumbers, bell peppers and eggplants. In 2019, the volume of Egypt's agricultural exports reached approximately 5.4 million tons, according to the agriculture ministry. By the end of the first half of the current year, Egypt's agricultural exports reached around 3.47 million tons. According to Friday's statement, Egypt exported around 1.4 tons of citrus fruit, approximately 670,000 tons of potatoes, and slightly over 400,000 tons of onions.
