The Census and Statistics Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government stated on Monday, December 28, the values of Hong Kong's exports and imports of merchandise both saw year-on-year upsurges in November, at 5.6 percent and 5.1 percent correspondingly.

A government spokesperson stated that the value of goods exports resumed expansion on a year-on-year basis in November, mostly reflecting an enhanced external trading environment. This was mainly evidenced by the sturdy performance in exports to the mainland. Exports to the United States relapsed to a modest upsurge, and those to the European Union picked up further. Exports to a lot of main Asian markets also revealed expansion of varying degrees, the spokesperson added.
