Vietnam Jan Coffee Exports Drop 17.6%, Rice Down 29.5%

Vietnam's coffee exports in January are estimated to have dropped 17.6% from a year earlier to 120,000 tonnes, while rice exports likely fell 29.5%, government data released on Friday showed.

 

COFFEE
Coffee exports from Vietnam are estimated to have dropped 17.6% in January from a year earlier to 120,000 tonnes, equal to 2 million 60-kg bags, the General Statistics Office (GSO) said on Friday. Coffee export revenue for Vietnam, the world's biggest producer of the robusta bean, is estimated to have dropped 12.6% to $217 million in the month.

 

RICE
Rice exports in January are estimated to have dropped 29.5% from a year earlier to 280,000 tonnes. Revenue from rice exports in the period was seen decreasing 20.4% to $154 million.

 

ENERGY
Vietnam's January crude oil exports were estimated to have fallen 11.5% from the same period last year to 356,000 tonnes. Crude oil export revenue in the period was seen sliding 33.9% from a year earlier to $135 million. Oil product imports in January were estimated at 600,000 tonnes, down 47.6% from the same period last year, while the value of product imports likely decreased 62.6% to $218 million.
