Spain's exports of agri-food, fishery and forestry products were worth 40,997 million euros (49,497 million U.S. dollars) in the period between April and December 2020, an increase of 2.7 percent compared to 39,905 million euros in the same period of 2019, according to a government report published on Wednesday.
The report, titled "COVID report -- Foreign trade, situation of the agri-food and fisheries sector," looks at the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the sector over the last eight months of 2020. In the same period, the overall export figure for the other sectors of the economy declined by 11.8 percent. The agri-food, fishery and forestry sectors' imports decreased by eight percent from 29,418 million euros to 27,048 million euros.
