The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) declared that German exports kept drawing near to pre-pandemic levels and expanded 0.3 percent in April in comparison with the prior month. Destatis said that in one year, exports rebounded by 47.7 percent and hit 111.8 billion euros (USD136.5 billion) during April after Germany’s foreign trade had declined because of coronavirus pandemic.
Destatis noted that exports to the United States even soared by 59.9 percent annually to around USD12,29 billion in April, whereas German exports to China increased by 16 percent hitting about USD10,22 billion. Joachim Lang, director general of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), stated in a report: "business with China is supporting the upswing," further saying: "trade with the United States is also recovering" and the U.S. economic stimulus package would bring more demand for European products in the imminent months.
