Poland

Polish exports and imports hit record highs in April 2021, the development minister has said, commenting on the latest foreign trade data. Poland's foreign trade balance measured by customs declarations came to a surplus of EUR 3.5 billion at end-April, the country's statistical office GUS announced on Tuesday.

Exports after April 2021 grew by 19 percent year on year to EUR 90.0 billion while imports increased by 15.6 percent to EUR 86.5 billion. Deputy Prime Minister and Development Minister Jaroslaw Gowin pointed out that the rate of foreign trade growth "exceeds the readings from two years ago (exports +15.2 percent, imports +9.1 percent)". He said that this reflected the good health of the industrial sector, and the improving economic situation of Poland's trade partners.
