Between January and July of this year, Turkish lemon exports increased by 91% in volume and 59% in value over the same period of last year. According to data from the Mediterranean Exporters Associations, Turkey exported 734,791 tons of citrus fruits in the first six months of this year, 286,855 tons of which corresponded to lemons worth 147,964,000 dollars.
Lemons exports accounted for the largest share of the 382 million dollars obtained from citrus exports in this period. They were followed by mandarins with 141,982,000 dollars, grapefruits with 51,229,000 dollars, and oranges with 40,827,000 dollars. The main destinations for Turkish lemons were Russia, Iraq, Romania, Ukraine, and Serbia.
