Brazil Trade Surplus Widened in August to $7.7B on Higher Exports

Brazil's trade surplus widened in August from July as exports increased more than imports, the economy ministry said Wednesday. The country recorded a surplus of $7.7 billion in August, after a surplus of $7.4 billion in July. Brazilian exports rose to $27.2 billion last month, from $25.5 billion in July, while imports increased to $19.5 billion from $18.1 billion.
