Tunisia: Trade Balance Worsens By 13.74 Percent to 10,480 Md, but Coverage Rate Gains 1.6

The trade balance worsened by 13.74% to 10,480 MD during the last eight months of 2021, against 9,213.6 MD in the same period last year, according to the monthly bulletin of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) released Friday. However, despite the worsening of the deficit, the coverage rate of imports by exports gained 1.6 points compared to the same period of 2020, to 73.9%.

 

Exports rose by 23.5% during the eight months of 2021 to 29,681.9 MD against a fall by 18.6% recorded during the same period in 2020 (24,032.4 MD). Imports were up by 20.8% to 40,161.9 MD, against a fall of 21.6% during the eight months of 2020 (33,246 MD).
