Egypt

Egypt's exports of food industries and agricultural crops increased by 13.6% to $4.585 billion in the first eight months of the fiscal year (FY) 2020/2021, compared to $4.035 billion in the year-ago period, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Monday, citing the Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevine Gamea, as saying.

On the sidelines of the inauguration of the food development and safety centre in Qaha City at a cost of EGP 90 million, Gamea said that the food and agricultural sectors play a major role in the ministry's plan to increase Egypt's exports to $100 billion annually. The largest market destinations for Egypt's food exports include Russia, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, the UK, the UAE, the US, Algeria, Morocco, and Libya.
