Moroccan Customs Revenue Increased By 24.1% in November 2021

Morocco’s General Treasury (TGR) reported in its monthly bulletin of public finance statistics that net customs revenue amounted to over MAD 63.29 billion ($6.8 billion) between January and November 2021, an increase of 24.1% compared to the same period a year earlier. Customs rights’ revenues from the value added tax (VAT) on imports and the domestic consumption tax on energy products, are calculated taking into account total refunds, rebates and tax refunds of MAD 99 million ($10 million). The net revenues from customs rights rose by 26.4% to MAD 10.47 billion ($1.1 billion) taking into account refunds, rebates and tax refunds of 20 million dirhams. Meanwhile, net revenue from import VAT exceeded MAD 37.74 billion ($4 billion).

 

TGR further reported that gross customs revenues in Morocco reached MAD 63.4 billion ($6.8 billion) at the end of November 2021, climbing by 24.1% compared to November 2020. Net revenues of domestic consumption tax related to energy products exceeded MAD 15 billion ($1.6 billion), showing a 22% increase compared to November 2020, taking into account refunds, rebates and tax refunds of 70 million dirhams.
